Dr. Sasse is a nationally recognized thought leader in general, colorectal, and bariatric surgery. As founder and Medical Director of Nevada Surgical Associates and Medical Director of Renown's nationally accredited bariatric surgery center, he has performed over 8,000 primary bariatric surgical procedures and 1,000 revisional procedures.

Academic Excellence: Dr. Sasse graduated from UCSF Medical School with Alpha Omega Alpha honors and completed his surgery residency at UCSF with emphasis on minimally invasive digestive tract surgery. He earned his MPH in Epidemiology from UC Berkeley and completed a colorectal surgery fellowship at Lahey Clinic.

Research & Innovation: Award-winning scientist and inventor with a patent for bariatric surgical devices. Author of nine books and numerous peer-reviewed publications. His research focuses on minimally invasive techniques, metabolic surgery outcomes, and regenerative medicine applications.

Clinical Expertise: Specializes in sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, reoperative surgery, hiatal hernia repair, hernia mesh procedures, endoscopic interventions, and complex surgical complications.

Leadership & Recognition: Serves on the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners as a surgical case review expert. Former Scientific Advisory Board member for ACell Corporation and Clinical Advisory Board member for Allergan Corporation. Major in USAF Reserve (ret.).

Dr. Rembetski brings over four decades of surgical expertise to Nevada Surgical Associates. Board-certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery, he specializes in comprehensive surgical care with extensive experience in general and peripheral vascular procedures.

Comprehensive Training: Dr. Rembetski completed his medical education at Boston University School of Medicine and underwent extensive surgical training at the University of Colorado Medical Center and Oregon Health Sciences University, followed by specialized fellowship training in Peripheral Vascular Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.

Extensive Experience: With over 40 years of practice, Dr. Rembetski has served patients across multiple states and healthcare systems, bringing a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise to complex surgical cases.

Jared brings military discipline and medical expertise to the team, ensuring patients receive thorough care and support throughout their surgical experience.

Caitlin is a Nevada Native having graduated from Carson High School. She went on to nursing school in Florida where she earned an Associates of Nursing. She then came back to Reno and earned her bachelor's degree from University of Reno Nevada.

While working as a nurse, Caitlin studied for her master's degree from Chamberlain University College of Nursing in Houston, Texas. Prior to becoming an Advanced Practice Nurse Registered Nurse, Caitlin honed her skills for six years working in many specialties such as GI, orthopedics, ICU, gynecology, and pediatrics. This diverse background gives Caitlin a great level of perspective in taking care of the patient population within Nevada Surgical Associates. Caitlin is a super career female who balances all of this experience along with being a great mom to two young children. Her hobbies include being outdoors, exercising, camping, boating, setting a great example of taking care of herself, and spending quality time with her family.

Caitlin spends the majority of her time in a clinical setting within Nevada Surgical Associates. Not only is she seeing new patients, but she's also devoting a bunch of her time to seeing patients in a post-surgical setting and helping them through the healing process.

I was born and raised in Gardnerville Nevada. I received by bachelor's degree in Sports Psychology from National University. I worked as a wildland firefighter for US Forest Service for 12 years across the country before returning to school at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine where I obtained my Master of Physician Assistant Studies. I am currently working on my Doctor of Medical Science degree from Butler University.
